"We almost there," Nervak says, "It's just around the bend up ahead." The sun has long since fallen. Hecate sits astride Krexx, riding along behind Nervak. The scent of the pines and the light perfume of pure snow fill the air. The higher up the mountain they go, the thicker the blanket of snow is. The grand pine trees stand as tall here as they did at the base. The road, however, is clear of any obstruction. Not even a flake of snow rests on the path.

A Toa of fiery red, with a mask like the sun, a mechanical arm, and weapons unlike anything a Toa should wield. And he is dangerous. Rumor has it he destroyed an entire mountain once, though some claim he didn't act alone. What is known about him for sure is he is a Toa of Fire, and he was a commander in the Great Makuta Quelling shortly after Teridax's attack failed. His name is Vaash, but he is known by a few alias depending on what part of the Continent you're on: The Mechanoid Typhoon, the 60 Billion Clam Toa, and Vaash the Stampede. The Continent, Chapter 1Chapter 1: The Tavern   
Dusk. A rickety old tavern stands among the pines, a light dusting of snow reflecting the starlight enough to see just how rough the joint is. Inside, a Toa of Ice sits with a Toa of Air at a corner table. The bar is built for Toa, but is fit for Matoran as well, and tonight, there was a good number of them around, drinking and making merry.   
"So," the Toa of Air says to his icy friend, "how's your village been handling Toa of Night sightings?"   
"It's been rough, but seeing as how it hasn't actually been aggressive, all I can do is sit back and watch carefully until something does..." The Continent, Chapter 1
